OLED i.e. Organic light-emitting diode is so popular screen technology that is used to create digital displays in devices such as Television, Computer Monitors, Mobiles Phone, is a popular screen technology. However, on Samsung, Apple and some other smartphone brands, they are using AMOLED i.e. Active-matrix organic light-emitting diode screen. So, what are the differences between OLED and AMOLED?
Basically both the OLED & AMOLED screen technology is so popular all over the world. OLED is a light-emitting diode (LED) in which the emissive electroluminescent layer is a film of organic compound that emits light in response to an electric current. An OLED display works without a backlight thus, it can display deep black levels and can be thinner and lighter than a liquid crystal display (LCD). OLED is popular in both Television and Mobiles. Moreover OLED is a screen having wide angle view and huge contrast ration, which display better images and colors. AMOLED stands for Active-matrix Organic light emitting diode. AMOLED Display with an integrated Digitizer is the layer that detects touch is integrated in to screen, rather then overlaid on the top of it. According to Samsung, Super AMOLED reflects one-fifth as much sunlight as the first generation AMOLED. So the theory state that the AMOLED is just differ with ACTIVE-MATRIC with OLED and hence AMOLED is upgrated version of OLED.
The main upgraded feature of AMOLED is TFT i.e. A thin-film-transistor liquid-crystal display (TFT LCD) is a variant of a liquid-crystal display (LCD) that uses thin-film transistor (TFT) technology to improve image qualities such as addressability and contrast. A TFT LCD is an active-matrix LCD, in contrast to passive-matrix LCDs or simple, direct-driven LCDs with a few segments. That helps the AMOLED screen control the pixels better. This feature is necessary for high-quality products, especially those devices with big size screen. So the AMOLED Screen is better and best over OLED for Large screen device in terms of display picture quality.
AMOLED or OLED which one better for Future
AMOLED is just the upgraded version of OLED and are not too different from each other. However AMOLED screen is more in demand due to higher resolution and it is better in display on Large Screen device. Both of them have high-quality screen types. They are getting more and more popular all over the world due to television, computer monitors and smart phone as the market demand is increasing day by day. One of the limitation to these screen is the production cost. So now the manufacturer is making more efforts and doing a lot of research work to reduce the cost with the better quality picture and higher resolution, so we can think that they will be cheaper in the near future.
